Idarado Legacy is a joint venture with Newmont Mining Company to redevelop their lands in Telluride, Colorado.
The property included over 4000 acres of very historic mining lands. After planning, 3,600 acres were deeded to the Trust for Public Land for open space and trails. Development was confined to the remaining 200 acres and included land dedicated for 24 permanent affordable housing units, land for transportation facilities, land for parks and historic interpretive trails. A mile long Interpretive Trail from Telluride's Town Park to Bridal Veil Falls explains the mining and remediation history of Telluride and Idarado Mining Company. For sale product was 37 free market homesites, ranging in price from $750,000 to $3,500,000. Wildcat Land Company acted as the Managing Partner for the development.
Wildcat Ranch was developed in the 1990's, setting the standard for low density development and preservation. Wildcat Ranch is an award winning, very low density development of only fifteen homesites on 7000 acres and is located adjacent to the Snowmass Ski Resort.
The Ranch is a true nature preserve with resident herds of elk, deer and bears with protected habitat areas and ongoing habitat enhancement programs. It embodies the multi-generation legacy concept, allowing clusters of buildings arranged as family compounds. Amenities include a 50-acre managed lake with common boathouse, 26 miles of horse and hiking trails, community stables, and private domestic water system. On-site ranch management is housed in preserved, historic structures, and includes all land management, full house management services, and recreation and wildlife programs. Prices in 1990 ranged from $2.2 to $6 million and were a home site available today, would be in the $8 -15 million range. Wildcat Land Company managed the development, marketing and sales of the project.
